Joanne Marie Gordon

Joanne Marie Gordon, 82, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023.

Joanne was born in Dowagiac on June 20, 1941, to the late Maynard Stover and Erma Sheldon.

Along with her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Gordon; and sister, Marilyn Liarley. Left to cherish the memory of Joanne are her sons: Randy Gordon, and Michael (Karri) Gordon; five grandchildren: Joshua (Anna) Gordon, Kaylena (Tyler) Blazier, Zachary (Brooke) Gordon, Caleb Gordon, and Jacob Gordon; seven great-grandchildren: Eli Gordon, Wyatt Gordon, Elliot Gordon, Owen Gordon, Ava Gordon, Emelia Blazier, and Ophelia Blazier.

Joanne’s life was defined by her unwavering commitment to her family, especially her son, Randy, whom she cared for diligently for over 45 years. She was a beacon of strength and resilience, always ensuring Randy had the best quality of life possible. Joanne’s love, patience, and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew her. She ran BS PTA/PTO (Parents Teachers Organization) for some time and founded Southwestern Michigan Head Injury Alliance Support Group. She will be remembered for her selfless devotion to her family, her warm smile, and her kind heart. Her legacy of love and dedication will forever be a testament to her character.

In addition to being a devoted mother, Joanne was a loving wife. Her marriage was marked by mutual respect, shared laughter, and enduring love. Her strength, kindness, and love will be remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation for Joanne will be from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, with a funeral service to be at 1 p.m. at Allred Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, 10160 Rose Hill Road, Berrien Springs, MI 49103.
