Ardis Mae Bearss

Ardis M. Bearss, 93, of Berrien Springs, passed away Saturday morning, October 24, 2020, at Woodland Terrace of Longmeadow in Niles.

Friends and family may visit beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, with Chaplain Jonathan Rose of Caring Circle Hospice officiating. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan.

Ardis was born March 16, 1927, in South Haven, the daughter of Charles O. and Lydia (Kesterke) Herman. She married Max L. Bearss in Kalamazoo on January 31, 1948, and she was a dedicated homemaker caring for their family. Her leisure enjoyments included gardening and being outdoors, and she enjoyed animals.

Survivors include her son, Stephen (Barbara) Bearss of Trussville, Alabama; her daughter, Diane Conley of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and three grandchildren: Eric (Anna) Bearss, Audrey Bearss, and Jacob (Anah) Baugher.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 27, 2009; and by her sister, Dorothy Everhart.
