Online messages for Barb’s family may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Barb will be dearly missed by all who knew her as she was the matriarch of the family, a humble servant to the community, and a tireless provider to a friend in need.
Her greatest love and devotion was to her family. She was married to Bruce Stover, her partner in life, for 47 years. Barb was very involved in the lives of her three daughters from their childhood activities, to the role of team mom, to helping them lead their own families. This continued with her seven grandchildren where she was always kind and caring and made them each feel special.
Barb will be remembered for a lifetime of caring for others. She supported her family, friends and community in many ways including activities with the church, the local fire department, baking cakes for a special occasion, or quietly helping a person or family in need. She was a member of Hinchman Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and a founding member of Friends for Berrien Springs. Her most special passion was providing Angel Gowns. This is a process of deconstructing donated wedding dresses to sew appropriate burial gowns for infants who died in the hospital. Barb helped provide over 400 gowns as gifts to grieving families.
Barb enjoyed many hobbies including quilting, baking, and bowling, and those who participated with her know how much she cherished the friendships made.
Surviving are her husband, Bruce; three daughters: Michele Bowen, Tonia (Tim) Williams, Kristina (Corey) Burks; seven grandchildren: Ashley and Dawn Bowen, Hayden and Garrett Williams, Matthew, Brandon, and Tyler Burks; her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Teddy Perkey; and three brothers: Ronald, Randy and Terry Pressler.
Barb was preceded in death by a brother, Russell; and father, David.
