On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Daniel John Boal, a loving brother, uncle, friend to many, passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 63.
Born to John and Shirley Boal, he graduated from Ferris State University and went on to work in Arizona on electronics. He had a variety of jobs from construction, roofing, factory worker, and even self-sufficient homesteader for a while. Around 15 years ago, Daniel, moved back to the Michigan area to be closer to family, and he enjoyed all family gatherings/holidays/weddings/going on motorcycle rides, etc.
Daniel loved riding his Indian Motorcycle with family and friends, even collected all things Indian. He will be remembered for many things: being an avid reader, love/knowledge for music, telling jokes and making people laugh, and his kindness towards children. His neighbors dubbed him “Laughing Dan”. He had a laugh one could not forget. He truly enjoyed being outside: either working, relaxing, cooking, or camping.
Daniel is preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Marie Boal, who passed on September 25, 1969; mother, Shirley (Zech) Boal, who passed on September 2, 2011; and father, John Boal, who passed on July 17, 2020.
He is survived by his “New Mom” (as Dan would call her), Sylvia Wallace-Boal; siblings: David Boal, Denise (Dave) Bowles, Doug (Kim) Boal; step-siblings: Jim (Tamekia) Wallace, and Angie (Tim) Geis; nieces & nephews: Joshua (Emily) Pugh, Justin Pugh, Amanda Pugh, Cody (Stephany) Boal, Kaine (Kaitlyn) Boal, Faith Boal, Mackenzie Wallace, Matthew Geis; great-nieces and nephews: Evylen Boal, Vivyen Boal, Jaxon Boal, Kinsley Boal, Hailee Davis, Lincoln Pugh.
