Daniel L. Brewer

Daniel L. Brewer, 79, a resident of Berrien Springs since 1969, went to the loving arms of his Savior on Saturday morning, Aug. 25, 2018, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at Harbert Community Church, 6444 Harbert Road, Sawyer, Mich., with visitation 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to Harbert Community Church Helping Hand Fund, PO Box 197, Harbert, MI 49115. Dan was born May 28, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Daniel and Bertha (Stemen) Brewer. He served his country with Army Intelligence in Japan. He worked as a special education teacher, and his leisure enjoyments included hiking, gardening, reading and woodworking. He volunteered for various activities of his church, and he loved being with his family and doing things with them, especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Justine; two sons: Jason (Kathryn) Brewer and their children Keeghan, Devin, and Ellissa, of Elkhart, Ind.; Josh Brewer of Dorr, Mich., and his daughter Mackenzie (Michael) Zachman of Tarawa Terrace, N.C.; daughter, Emily (George) Grix and their children Vera and Naomi, of Grand Rapids; and brothers: Gerald (Jean) Brewer of Hiram, Ohio, and James Brewer of Mantua, Ohio.
