Darell V. Amundson

Darell V. Amundson, 97, died Friday morning, February 3, 2017, at Woodland Terrace of Longmeadow in Niles.  Inurnment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.

He was born November 24, 1919, in Brooten, Minnesota, the son of Benhard and Leah (Chaffee) Amundson.  He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army Air Forces, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Darell worked as a truck driver, doing heavy equipment transporting.  He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Janet Adams; two sons, Kenneth and Larry Amundson; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Olson) Amundson; and a sister.
