The family of David W. Wall is sad to inform of his passing on Saturday, March 25, 2017, just days after his 69th birthday. He suffered a long illness and is now at peace awaiting Jesus’ call to resurrection.
David was so loved by his wife of 42 years, Twyla (Young) Wall; son, Reeve J. Wall of Orlando, Florida and his fiancé, Sarah Heintzelman; as well as his daughter, Kelsey (Wall) Hahn, her husband, Nick Hahn and their son Brayden, David’s grandchild, of South Bend, Indiana. He was the precious only child of John W. Wall and Lorraine (Bradley) Wall and cared for them faithfully before they passed away. Other family members are mother-in-law Bonnie (Hohlier) Young of Berrien Springs; Twyla’s sister and brother-in-law Joy (Young) and Ron Klein of Springboro, Ohio, and their children: Stephen Klein, his fiancé Kelly and their daughter Nora, and Janelle (Klein) Dekdebrun and her husband Jason, all of Denver, Colorado, and Michael Klein of Cincinnati, Ohio. Extended family of Berrien Springs are brother-in-law, Jim Hippler, and wife Deanna; niece Tonya (Hippler) Snyder, her husband Chris and sons Maxwell and Montgomery; and nephew Jason Hippler, his wife Erica (Wise) and their daughters Nevaeh and Hevanna. Growing up David was very close to his two cousins, John Rayborn and Ron Jackson – lots of chuckles shared.
David was born and raised in the Detroit, Michigan area. His father owned Tool and Die businesses supporting the automobile industry and was the inventor of a piston casting machine used worldwide. The family was active in church and David was educated in parochial schools where lifelong friendships were formed. (Adelphian Academy crew!) After high school he served a 4-year tool and die apprenticeship. David and Twyla were married at the Troy, Michigan, Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1975 and shortly thereafter moved to the Orlando area. David and his father built the Florida Extrusion company in Sanford, Florida, and worked side by side for many years. Later came Plastic Profiles, then a venture in real estate development, Quail Ridge. Twenty four years of church (how he loved Markham Woods!) and family life in Florida made for many happy memories. After moving to Berrien Springs in 2000, David enjoyed being near Michigan family and friends and finished his working life as a long haul trucker.
A great game of golf was a weekly endeavor. David enjoyed the Rocky Mountains, hiking in summer, skiing in winter. Hawaii was a favorite. Sailing, water skiing (barefoot!), scuba diving – all fun times. He was known by appreciative church audiences for his amateur standup comedy. (It seems his 18-month-old grandson has inherited the sense of humor!) His signature “cheek pop” was a delight to children of all ages. Always ready with a quip and an all-around kind, funny, father, uncle and friend. Much loved, in our hearts forever.
