Emma L. Bond, 88, of Berrien Center, died Monday, February 13, 2017, at home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, at Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7000 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60637. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago. Emma was born August 25, 1928, in Brownsville, Tennessee, the daughter of Charlie and Johnether (Mann) Reed. In addition to raising her family, she had worked as a cosmetologist, and also as a dietary aide for Ravenswood Hospital in Ravenswood, Illinois.
Survivors include two sons, Alfred Lee (Sharone) Bond and Larry (Marilyn) Bond; daughter, Patricia Ann (Glenn) Rogers; grandchildren: Peter (Erin), Michael (Candace), Shannon, Lauren (Isaac), Maya, Arriel, Jared, Jasmine; great-grandchildren, Ollie and Lily; sister, Laura (Harry) Waites; and brothers: Y.T., Birtis, Charles (Martha), Louis T. (Linda), Rumzy, John Wesley (Cozette), Claireborn (Debbie) – all Reed.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Bond.
