Evelyn Vera Dahlberg

Evelyn Vera Dahlberg (Trojanek), 90, of Berrien Springs, passed away peacefully in her home early Wednesday morning, April 6, 2022, with her husband of 69 years, Barry Dahlberg, at her side. She was born on August 22, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois.

Evelyn was born and raised in Berwyn, Illinois in a Bohemian ethnic neighborhood. She learned one of her passions, sewing, from her father (Anton), who was a tailor. She attended the University of Illinois, where she met her future husband. She and her husband founded and managed a successful assembly and fulfillment company (Aware Services) in Chicago for over 25 years.

Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved babies and gravitated toward them. She enjoyed traveling in their RV after retirement with her husband. She easily made friends with strangers.

She raised four children in Rockton, Illinois, eventually retiring with her husband to Berrien Springs, near the family Dahlberg farm.

Her memory will live on through her husband, Barry; children: Robert (Susan), Barry Jr. (Wendy), Andrew (Patricia), and Mia Swatkowski (Gregory); her 12 grandchildren: Erick, Maribeth Goble (Nicholas), Andrea, Alexandra, Brian, Caroline, Rebecca Piri (Sepehr), Kathryn, Evelyn, Adam, Kristin, and Andrew; her five great-grandchildren; Pepper Watie, Mary Jane Watie, Dalton Watie Jr., Scarlett Watie, and Ayda Piri; and by her sister, Elsie Brown; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
