Franklin D. Gaul, 88, of St. Joseph, previously of Berrien Springs, died March 17, 2021, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
A Graveside Service will be held at noon Saturday, March 20, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs, with Pastor Steve Hartten of Peace Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, officiating. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital; American Diabetes Association; or Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, where Frank was a member.
Frank was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Baroda, the son of Clarence and Anna Gaul. He was a lifelong area resident except for 12 years living in Kentucky. In his younger days he was in 4H, FFA, and Jr. Farm Bureau. In addition to owning and operating his farm, he was employed for 25 years with Clark Equipment as a shearer press operator.
He loved attending auctions, meeting friends at the coffee shop, telling jokes and playing pranks. He was friendly and talked to everyone, and he loved to share his nature collection of various items with everyone.
Survivors include his wife, Delores (Berkholz) Gaul; sons, Brian (Judy) Gaul and Stephen L. (Sharon) Gaul; daughters, Michele Gaul and Nancy (Mark) Carpenter; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leon Gaul; and his sister, Loraine Reum.
