Genevieve E. “Jenny” Wymer, 86, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville after a long battle with cancer.
She was born December 16, 1930, in Lake Township, the daughter of Harold and Josephine Livengood. Many will remember her as the owner of the Jenny Wren Restaurant in Berrien Springs, where she met and made many lifetime friends. She also served as a board member at the Central County Senior Center in Berrien Springs. Jenny loved to travel, and she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, ceramics, and golfing.
She is survived by her children: Melanie (Kurt) Schacknies of Eau Claire, Mark (Vivian) Wymer of Jacksonville, NC, Mary (Scott) Schinske of Paw Paw, Michelle (Ron) Benham of Britton, Michigan; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Delores (Vernon) Coe of Rodney, Michigan; sister-in-law, Lorraine Livengood of Sawyer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers: Walter, Dallas, and Joe Livengood.
Jenny’s final wish was that her remains be donated to the University of Michigan medical research facility to help find a cure for cancer. Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, was entrusted with arrangements. Online memories may be shared with the family at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Her family asks that memorials be sent to Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, or the Central County Senior Center in Berrien Springs.
