Genevieve Rose Goosey

Genevieve Rose (Clark) Goosey, 86, of Berrien Springs, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, December 6, at the Berrien Springs Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor Ron Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6–8 p.m. Monday, December 5, at Allred Funeral Home, and online messages www.allredfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to Worthy Student Fund: Village Adventist Elementary School.

She was born March 14, 1930 in Hinsdale, Illinois, graduated from Broadview Academy in 1947, then EMC (now Andrews University) in 1952 with a BA in education. She married Wilburn Goosey June 3, 1952, making their home in Berrien Springs. She worked 42 years as teacher/librarian, the last 36 years in the Benton Harbor School System. She was a member of the Village SDA Church for 64 years.

Genevieve is survived by her children: Brenda (Larry) Thomas of Canyon Lake, Texas; Linda (Mark) Bennett of Bellevue, Iowa; Glenda (Joe) Winnell of Bridgman; David (Diane) Goosey of Plant City, Florida; Melinda (Don) Milliken of Bridgman; Rhonda Sheehan of Berrien Springs. 21 grandchildren: Suki, Nicador, Kelly, Eric, Jason, Brandon, Bambi, Sara, Lisa Ann, Sondra, Tom, Chelsea, Jovon, Brittany, Tiffany, Patricia, Christina, Charissa, Donald, Gennifer, Patrick. 11 great-grandchildren: Minsook, Kaija, Hailey, Josiah, Fisher, Skyler, Riley, Summer Joy, Grayson, Louis, Eli.  

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn; two brothers, Harry and Fred; grandson, Spencer.
