Gerald M. LaCombe, 93, of Berrien Springs, died Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Caretel Inns St. Joseph.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Berrien Center Bible Church. Inurnment will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles at a later date. Memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Gerald was born July 17, 1927, in St. Joseph, the son of David M. and Louise (Moore) LaCombe. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had worked as a design drafter for Whirlpool Corporation.
He was an active member of Berrien Center Bible Church for over 70 years, serving on the church board for many years and also on the school board for a time. One of his leisure enjoyments was playing golf.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Dykstra of Wyoming, Mich.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Helen Kizer LaCombe, in 1999; his second wife of 10 years, Janet McLauchlin LaCombe, in 2019; his son, Martin LaCombe in 2011; and his sister, Joyce Pierce.
