Harold W. Johnson Sr., 87, of Mishawaka, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at Chalet of Niles.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Allred Funeral Home, 212 S. Main St., Berrien Springs, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs. Harold was born December 2, 1928, in Lepanto, Arkansas, the son of Burt and Lulla Belle (Rose) Johnson. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed by D & M Glass in Elkhart and retired from Indiana Glass, South Bend.
He is survived by seven children: Caron (Russ) Gleva, Kimberly (Frank) Magner, Charles Johnson, Tina Sarasin (Abbas Alugaili), Andy Johnson, Esther Johnson (Joe Martin), and Nick (Jessica) Stalhood; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters: Evelyn (Lyndon) Thenhaus, Sheril (Betty) Johnson, Gerald (Deloris) Johnson, Carlene (Joe) Manasco, Glenda (William) Walter, Barbara (Charles) Leath, and Larry (Shirleen) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Johnson Jr. and Daryl Johnson; two wives, Joyce Stoner and Sharon Klingerman; two brothers, James Donavon and Douglas Johnson.
