Henry Herzog, 87, of Berrien Springs, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at his home.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 9, at All Nations Seventh-day Adventist Church, Berrien Springs. Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, is serving the family, and online messages may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com. Henry was born January 2, 1930, in Whitemouth, Manitoba, Canada, the son of Rudolph and Ida (Schmidt) Herzog. He had lived in Berrien Springs for 45 years, coming from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He had worked at the Andrews University print shop in lithograph and photo setup, and in his later years, he did handyman jobs around the community to help out where he could.
Henry helped establish the Pathfinder Club in British Columbia, Canada. He worked as a leader at the Chattanooga Pathfinder Club, and he helped with the Andrews University Pathfinder Club. Henry loved to go camping, and he helped teach his oldest daughter to play the piano.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl (Quering) Herzog; daughters, Barbara Jean (Bill) McMaster and Darlene Louise (Stephen Paul) Grooms; four grandchildren: Crystal Gaither, Matthew Grooms, Lindsay Delong, and Marc Grooms; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eddie Herzog.
