Judy May Aitken

May 2, 1943 — December 10, 2018

A spiritual giant in the form of a humble, compassionate woman, Judy May Aitken peacefully fell asleep in Jesus on the morning of December 10, 2018 at her home in Eau Claire. She was surrounded by her loving family. Though cancer swiftly took her body physically, her mind remained sharp and her spirit strong, allowing her to commune with Jesus, her best friend, till the end.

Judy was born May 2, 1943 in Joplin, MO, the daughter of missionary-minded educators, Dr. and Mrs. Boyd Olson. Her life is characterized by a commitment to outreach and missions. Though her career began as a homemaker and registered nurse, she gained a passion for refugees and embarked on a missionary journey of more than 40 years of service. As founder of ASAP Ministries, a non-profit organization serving the persecuted, poor, unreached and refugees, based in Berrien Springs, Judy leaves behind a legacy of love and a charge for us all to keep our eyes focused on Christ and world-wide service.

Survivors include a large family-of-God, including her three children; Jay Aitken (Jill), Jolene Roosenberg (John), and Julia O’Carey (A.J.); along with her eight grandchildren: Axel Aitken, Kaila and Liana O’Carey, Ayewin, Josselyn, John III, Yan and Joelle Roosenberg.

Judy’s family warmly invites all who knew and loved her to attend her funeral to be held on Friday, December 21 at Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs. The service will take place at 10:30 a.m. with a burial service following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Online messages to www.allredfuneralhome.com.
