Karen Snyder lost her valiant fight with cancer and passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024, in South Bend, IN, at the age of 69. Born in 1954, the daughter of Don Snyder and Elsie (Sipchenko) Snyder, who both preceded her in death. Karen is survived by; her husband Rick, son Zane, daughter Maegan and her brother Keith.
An avid learner, Karen pursued her education with passion, earning a Master's degree with a focus on textile science. She made her mark in the world of real estate, where she was not only a well-known realtor of 25 years with experience in four different states, but also a trusted advisor and friend to many. Her professional achievements were matched by her commitment to her community, where she was actively involved and highly respected.
10 years ago, she reconnected with a high school sweetheart, Rick Ferris, whom she wed in 2017. Karen accepted and extended her love to Rick’s sons as though they were her own,
Beyond her professional life, Karen found satisfaction and relaxation in the intricate art of quilting and knitting. Her creations were not just displays of her skill but also expressions of her love, each stitch a testament to her care for those around her.
Karen's life was a reflection of the values she held dear. Her loving nature was the cornerstone of her family, her kindness a bridge that connected her to friends and strangers alike, and her intelligence a guiding light that led her through every challenge. She used these guiding principles to develop a close-knit network of friends and business community including present and past clients, former classmates, fellow Real Estate agents, fellow Rotarians, neighbors and more. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, July 14 at 3:00 PM in the commons room of the Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University in Berrien Springs.
