Kathleen Ekkens

Kathleen Ekkens, 77, of Berrien Springs, died Saturday, October 21, 2017, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, at Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University, Berrien Springs.  Friends are invited to visit from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, and to leave online messages at www.allredfuneralhome.com.  Memorial donations may be made to WAUS Radio c/o Andrews University, or to Camp Au Sable, Grayling, Michigan.

Kathy was born December 18, 1939, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Carolyn (Everest) and Donald Moon.  She lived in Berrien Springs for the last 25 years and was a member of Pioneer Memorial Church.  She retired in 2009 from the Seminary at Andrews University, where she had been a secretary.

Survivors include her three daughters: Laura Keller, Julie Verhelle, and Karen Case; her son, John Holland; 10 grandchildren; and her sister, Eileen Horne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Moon and Carolyn Lawson; and her brother, Donald “Bud” Moon.
