Lorraine O. Koebel Brunke, 89, of Berrien Springs, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at Woodland Terrace of Bridgman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Douglas Adams of the Berrien Springs Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Run Cemetery in Royalton Township. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Youth Fair. Online memories may be shared at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Lorraine was born September 28, 1927, in St. Joseph, the daughter of Paul and Elsie (Stines) Ott. In addition to caring for her family, she worked with the family farm, Koebel’s Locker Plant, and Lakeshore Studios making lamp shades (they called themselves the Shady Ladies). She was a member of the St. Joe Kickers Club, and she loved polka dancing and the Berrien County Youth Fair.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Nancy) Koebel; three daughters: Carol (Ed) Adams, Judy (Rich) Kubsch, Lori (Al) Wesner; daughter-in-law, Diane Koebel; sister-in-law, Jeanne Koebel; seven grandchildren: Bill (Toni) Koebel, Jill (Rob) Ludwick, DeAnn (Chris) Blakeman, David (Jennifer) Adams, Eric (Robyn) Kubsch, Ryan (Shellie) Phillips, Brett Phillips; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by two husbands, James Koebel and Myron Brunke; two sons, William and James Koebel; and several siblings.
