Mary K. (Kittie) Collier, 77, of Berrien Center died Monday morning, May 13, 2019, at her home with her family at her side.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service, and online messages may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, 635 St. Joseph Avenue, Berrien Springs, MI 49103; or to Hospice at Home, 4017 Chamberlain Road, Buchanan, MI 49107.
Kittie was born August 14, 1941, in Waukegan, Ill., the daughter of Waino and Phyllis (Smith) Luosa. She had worked as a preschool teacher and as a credit union employee before moving to Berrien Springs 23 years ago from Des Plaines, Ill. She had owned and operated Express Mart in Berrien Springs and worked at Honor Credit Union.
In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, traveling, visiting the local casinos, puzzles of all kinds, and working with her friend, Roni Albert, on estate sales.
Kittie was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, whom she married on November 12, 1960, in Waukegan; a brother, Wayne Luosa of Waukegan; and a great-grandson, Ron Collier of Berrien Center. She is survived by a daughter, Tina (Paul) Quealy of Wheaton, Ill.; two sons, Flint (Sandra) Collier of Naperville, Ill. and Kenneth Collier (Mary Rains) of Berrien Center; nine grandchildren: Jeffrey, Bret, Ashley, Sarah and Annalise Collier, Elizabeth Clausing, and Dakota, Alyssa and Danielle Quealy; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Brian (Diane) Luosa of Waukegan.
