Mary Patricia Whitney, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at the age of 98 in Buchanan, Michigan. Born on August 7, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, Pat’s life was a tapestry of cherished moments and enduring relationships.
Pat's journey began as the daughter of Dr. Clifford and Olive (Danielson) Andrews, and she grew up alongside her siblings, Danny and Bonnie. Her life was enriched by her marriage to Jordan B. Whitney, who preceded her in death, as did her parents, her beloved daughter Gretchen Beck, and her brother Danny Andrews and a great great grandson Hagen Miller. Her legacy continues through her devoted son Dean Whitney and his wife Jeanne, her sister Bonnie Bronk, her adoring five grandchildren; Nicole (James) Roseberry, Elizabeth (Mark) McCray, Collette Mazlack, Brandon Slaughter, Shawn Mazlack, eight great-grandchildren; Macie (Robert) Wagner, Lindsey (Chase) Miller, Ethan (Teagan) Rogers, Cameron (Cheyenne) McCray, Mason McCray, Isaac Roseberry, Abi Roseberry, Lilly Slaughter, nine great great grandchildren; Robert Wagner, Byron Wagner, Lani Wagner, Isla Wagner, Koulsen Miller, Boone Miller, Renleigh Rogers, Cannon Rogers, Wyatt McCray, and a close-knit group of five nieces and nephews.
Pat's professional life was as unique and colorful as her personality. For many years, she was a respected antique dealer, known for her keen eye and deep appreciation for the stories behind each piece. Her passion for antiques was not just a career but a way of life. Her business sense led her and her husband to open the Shoppers Oasis store which was a discount store for good finds at a good price. There, she cultivated not only a business but a community of fellow enthusiasts and friends.
Beyond her work, Pat was a woman of many interests and talents. She had a natural flair for drawing and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creative spirit. Her love for cats was well-known, as she always had a feline companion by her side, each cherished for their unique personalities. Those who knew Pat will fondly remember her sense of humor, which was as sharp as it was endearing.
Pat's character was the epitome of kindness and love. She was a hard worker, never shying away from the challenges that life presented. Her resilience and warmth touched everyone she met, making her a beloved figure in both her personal and professional circles.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs. A visitation will be held at Allred funeral home on Tuesday April 22 from 3:00-5:00 PM. A short time of reflections and memories will be shared starting at 5:00 PM.
