Mitchell Mark Hines

Mitchell Mark Hines, 68, of Berrien Springs, passed away July 29, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, following an extended illness.

Mitch was born April 16, 1954 in Aurora, Ill., to Richard and Ramona (Crubaugh) Hines. He attended Berrien Springs Public Schools, and moved on to employment at Gast Manufacturing in Bridgman and Dalson Enterprises in Buchanan.

Mitch had a strong Christian faith passed down to him by his parents and grandparents. He was a gentle soul known for his wit and creativity. Mitch found great joy in the Bible, music, movies, pets, and tending his garden.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn (Phelps) Hines; his mother, Ramona Hines; son, Travis Hines; and brothers, Chad (Mary) and Richard (Rosalie), all of Berrien Springs; five grandchildren: Bridgit Hines, Jasmin Hines, Cassandra Robinson, Shelbey Hines, and Corina Hines; step-grandson, Timmy Billings; 10 great-grandchildren; and three stepdaughters: Barbara Gridley, Caroline Zink, and Diana Billings.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; and sons, Mitch and Jeremiah.

A remembrance service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, with Pastor Bill Zebell of Berrien Center Bible Church officiating. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.

A celebration of Mitch’s life will follow the remembrance service immediately at Berrien Center Bible Church.
