Paul Ashbourn Warsop

Paul Ashbourn Warsop, 66, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at his home in Berrien Springs.

Paul was born June 1, 1955, in St. James, Jamaica, the son of Kenneth and Daphne (Barrett) Warsop. He came to the United States in 1983 to be with family in Brooklyn, New York, and this is where his father reminded him of his culinary talents. He moved on to work for Marriot Inflight Service at the John F. Kennedy Airport, and later with Lackmann Food Service at the original World Trade Center in New York. In 1997 he moved to Berrien Springs, where he worked for 13 years in food service for Lakeland Healthcare, followed by becoming the lead chef at Andrews University.

In addition to being a chef for various venues, Paul also enjoyed singing, photography, and he was an excellent electrician.

He married Cheryl Smith in 2010, blending their families together to include her three children and his two. They survive, along with four grandchildren, five sisters, five brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
