Quinton Eugene “Gene” Carrington, 68, of Baroda, died Wednesday morning, June 14, 2017 at home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, with burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery. Reverend Derek Cromwell of First Baptist Church, Berrien Springs, will officiate. Friends are invited to visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the funeral home, and leave online messages at www.allredfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to a veterans’ service organization of choice.
Gene was born June 4, 1949, in St. Joseph, the son of Quinton V. and Myerl S. (Baker) Carrington. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School. He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a lance corporal on August 17, 1975. He worked as a roofing foreman for Midland Engineering, South Bend. Leisure enjoyments included fishing and hanging out with friends.
Surviving are his son, Dustin (Brandy) Carrington of Niles; daughter, Nikki Carrington of Baroda; grandchildren: Sydney and Sebastian O’Connor, Becca (Ben) Ridell, Lincoln, Makenna, Caleb, and Hudson Carrington; brother, Jim (Barb) Carrington of Berrien Springs; sisters, Diane (Wally) Wolshlager of Stevensville and Janet Carrington of Berrien Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tony Carrington.
