Raymond A. “Skeeter” Brightbill, 73, former area resident, now of Champaign, Illinois, died Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs. Private family services will be held, with burial in Union Cemetery, Berrien Center. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Raymond was born June 22, 1947, in Berrien Center, the son of David and Doris (Abbott) Brightbill. He worked as a quality engineer for an aircraft parts manufacturer, and he had served with the California and Michigan National Guard. While in California, he took acting lessons and was able to have a part in a movie. He enjoyed singing and music, NASCAR races, car shows, and traveling (including to China).
Survivors include his wife, Jing Che; daughter, Valerie (Tim) Stauffer; sons, Michael Brightbill and Raymond C. (Kristy) Brightbill; four grandchildren: Chandler, Donavan, Rayce, and Parker; and his sister, Jean (Dean) Whitney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, David L. Brightbill.
