Stephen K. Halder

Stephen K. Halder “Santi”, 84, of Berrien Springs, died Wednesday night, June 8, 2016, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stevensville.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, June 13, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. until service time.  Pastor Roy Castelbuono will officiate, and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

He was born September 18, 1931, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the son of Shontosh and Shuhasini Halder.  He had three brothers and two sisters.  He had been a high school teacher, Associate VOP Director, and District Pastor with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, South Bangladesh Mission; and he had worked as a missionary with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bangladesh.

Survivors include his wife, Manju R. Halder; children (six sons, one daughter)—Albert B. Halder, Gilbert T. Halder, Ronald R. Halder, Arthur B. Halder, Adline M. Barikdar, Robert B. Halder, Walter J. Halder; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his five siblings.
