Veronica Merril Edmeade was born on December 17, 1930, on the beautiful, tropical island of Nevis, West Indies. She lived most of her early life in St. Kitts; then later migrated to the St. Thomas, USVI; then to Berrien Springs, Michigan, where she passed peacefully at her home on July 16, 2016.
Veronica was a very loving, loveable, talented and educated Christian, with a sweet, quiet, welcoming spirit. She was the faithful wife of the late James Edmeade, and a devoted, compassionate mother not only to her children, but also to many others who affectionately called her “mother”.
She leaves to cherish her legacy and fond memories: one sister, Gladys George-Taitt of New York; one brother, Alfred Matthews of Antigua, West Indies; seven children and their spouses; family daughter, Pasty Belboda and her family of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other dear friends.
We all loved her and she will be greatly missed. We wait in hope for the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ, when we will reunite with our beloved “mother” and father on that glorious resurrection day.
